It is essential that all practitioners working with children have an understanding of child development and the learning needs of children. Through observing children while they are involved in activities, practitioners will find out how the children's skills are developing, what they are able to do and what support is needed to take the learning forward. Practitioners will also be able to gather information on what the children know and understand, as well as their personal preferences. |
